What We Do: Faculty-Led South Africa
Our faculty-led philosophy
At Faculty-Led South Africa, we work closely with faculty leaders and administrators to enable the logistics behind field-based learning experiences in South Africa. Whether you are a biology professor intending to lead a group of students on a scientific exploration in Table Mountain National Park, or an English professor intending to examine post-apartheid literature, we will help you design and execute an itinerary that will result in a memorable learning experience for you and your students. No itinerary is too ambitious.
When your group arrives in South Africa, we assume the burden of all in-country logistics coordination, thus allowing you to focus on your curriculum and teaching responsibilities. Without a thorough knowledge of South Africa, attempting to coordinate transportation, day tours, meals and accommodation bookings in South African is a time-consuming nightmare. We utilize extensive local knowledge and a comprehensive South African network to implement your faculty-led itinerary in a smooth and successful fashion.
When designing itineraries, we place a premium on group safety and security. Our organization has an excellent safety record because we understand that "knowing the facts" is the most effective way to avoid becoming a victim of crime in South Africa. All of our faculty-led groups receive a comprehensive safety and security briefing during a welcome orientation.
We customize each faculty-led itinerary according to your specific academic objectives. The following is a list of the services we can offer prospective faculty-led programs:
